4-Hour Covid19 Site Specific Compliance Officer - English
The term “COVID-19 Compliance Officer” has recently taken root in occupational safety and health vocabulary. It’s typically used to describe the new set of responsibilities that have become part of the site safety officers' evolving role. This 4 hr class is intended for that specific audience: personnel with a functional proficiency in the workplace safety and health field who need a primer on specific health and safety concerns, with an emphasis on biological aspects. The class covers coronavirus disease (COVID- 19), the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the illness, the potential risk of infection, routes of exposure, and the range of related health effects. The class discusses workplace strategies, engineering and administrative controls, and the role of personal protective equipment including face coverings and respirators (they are not the same…). It also addresses the need for the COVID Compliance Officer to be able to balance new requirements and restrictions specific to the current pandemic to existing health and safety requirements that have not taken a back seat to the situation at hand. Like all of our courses, this class is based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, industry best practices, and the recently issued phased re-opening requirements of most states and municipalities.
